We advise refugees and immigrants of all ages, organise civic engagement, accompany intercultural openness processes, and design anti-racism and anti-discrimination work.

The AWO helps to make integration and inclusion effective. Our specialist service for migration and integration works for the recognition of the rights of immigrants in society. For the AWO, shaping the immigration society is one of the most important tasks resulting from the AWO's guiding principles.

The Specialist Service for Migration and Integration

  • initiates integration processes, controls and accompanies their course for affected citizens and institutions and documents the results

  • promotes the equal participation of immigrants in social life

  • promotes dialogue

  • helps with the intercultural openness of services and facilities

  • strengthens the individual and social capacity to act

  • fights discrimination and racism and defends the rights of refugees

The field of activity consists of the federally funded programmes of the specialist service with a focus on individual case advice and assistance and the work of the state-funded integration agency of AWO Mittelrhein.
