Supporting inclusion
In North Rhine-Westphalia, parents of children with a need for special educational support may decide on a regular school or a school specialized on children with learning difficulties.
Children and young adults with an according need for support can receive individual assistance in the form of school or integration support.
Requests for assistance are always submitted via the competent Youth Welfare Office or via the Social Welfare Office (in case of a physical handicap).
The respective school is involved in the decision whether to grant the respective child / young adult the requested support.
