The AWO Mittelrhein - or, to be more precise: the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Bezirksverband Mittelrhein e. V. - is both a member association and a social enterprise.

The approximately 19,680 members of the AWO am Mittelrhein are organised in 150 local associations and 8 district or regional associations. From Aachen to Waldbröl and from Heinsberg to Euskirchen, around 3,960 volunteers work in the local AWO facilities.

Tested and approved

We work on a solid foundation: AWO Mittelrhein is certified according to the AWO tandem model.

The certified testing procedure meets the standardised requirements of the aforementioned ISO standard as well as the quality criteria of the AWO. Since 2004, annual audits have certified the systematic and continuous development of our work.

ISO certification in accordance with DIN ISO 9001:2015 applies to the offices of AWO Bezirksverband Mittelrhein e. V., AWO Der Sommerberg GmbH, AWO Wohnbau GmbH and AWO GESA GmbH. The fully residential facilities and day care centres of AWO GESA GmbH are also certified.
