Help without borders - AWO International
Not only in Germany are there people who need help and support. The AWO International offers quick help, needs-oriented and on the spot.
As a professional association of workers' welfare, AWO International promotes humanitarian emergency aid and development cooperation projects. We work closely with partner organisations and non-governmental organisations on the ground. In Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Central America, South Asia and Southeast Asia we help to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged people.
We help to distribute food, relief supplies and drinking water. Medical care is as much a part of our work as disaster prevention and reconstruction. In addition, AWO International has been supporting the organisation SOS MEDITERRANEE since 2016 to rescue people in distress at sea.
AWO International:

Is based on the fundamental values of solidarity, tolerance, freedom, justice and equality
Invites partner organisations and experts of the AWO to exchange experiences
Provides food for thought on development policy within the association
Together with 28 European organisations, draws attention to the sustainable development goals of the United Nations and opportunities for participation
Is committed at home to the issues of solidarity, justice, fair trade and globalisation
Informs with its project "Global Learning" about connections and dependencies, but also about challenges and chances of globalisation
